Jenny Lake

It’s been over a week since my last post, and well…all I have to say for myself is I have been busy.  When I’m not at work, I’m sleeping.  When I’m not at work or sleeping, it’s usually after a dinner shift, and I’m at the pub playing pool with other employees living this zombie-esque lifestyle.   During the week, this is what we do to have fun.  Then the weekends are for adventures.  This past week,  I had 9 consecutive work days, since they messed up my weekend…again.

Anyways, last week, I went to Jackson with some people to walk around and go thrift-store shopping.  We went to Jenny Lake at the tail end of our journey, and it was really amazing.  I went into the water, surrounded by Andy Goldsworthy-inspired rock cairns, and felt refreshed in the Teton water.

It was a nice little day trip, as it is always when we get away from work and back into the wild that drew me here in the first place.  Strangely, working in Yellowstone, I have not had the chance to really explore the park as much as I had hoped to.  Not yet, at least.  It seems when I am not working, I have to sleep, or find someone to go hiking with, and when I get a weekend, the drive is usually to get out of the park.

I’ve been exhausted by my schedule.  It’s still an awesome job, though, and I can’t complain about anything except the pain in my feet and legs.   I love it here!
